masque of the red death
1. I believe the story is written in the point of view from the third person perspective. I do think the persons view limited because the one who is telling the story just recalls the events he had seen during the masquerade. I also believe that the story was written in present tense because it's written with alot of present tense word instead of past tense.
2.The story is set at a masquerade ball which I think the author chose beacuse edgar allen poe was known for writting weird storys of murder and the occult so this setting isnt out of the unexpected .
3. The protagonist of the story is Prince Prospero and hes trying to accomplish a successful masquerade party even theres a rabid plague destroyng his community. The antagonist is some duke who is dressed up and disguised so identity stays hidden but the identity of the antagonist is the red death and he acomplishes killing the prince.
4.The one theme i got from this story is, no matter what no one escape death and this moral goes to all those who think their untouchable.
5. I think hes a flat character because his description is one of a stereotypical rich prince. this story does not portray him with any new dimensions or change in character.
6. I wouldn't mind seeing this story turned into a film, but if they were to attempt to make this, i want the story to be simplified in a visual format. this story wasnt the hardest story i ever read but it does have alot complicated vocabulary that throws me off. I think that if this was a film it would interstin how they pull this short story off.
